CPAP Blocked Nose: How to Prevent and Treat It
When dealing with a congested nose, individuals using a CPAP machine may encounter challenges, as the CPAP-blocked nose issue can impede the device's effectiveness. This is primarily due to the fact that a congested nose can make it difficult to breathe comfortably through a nasal mask, potentially leading to mouth breathing, which in turn diminishes the efficacy of CPAP therapy.
Additionally, the presence of excess mucus can pose the risk of contaminating the CPAP mask and even introduce the potential for secondary infections, further complicating the use of CPAP for individuals with nasal congestion resulting from allergies or colds.
